If your city already has a camera ITMS, or is part way through a tender, Trafficure is not a reason to stop. The two systems sit on different layers of the same problem. Cameras give you enforcement and identification at fixed points. Trafficure gives you visibility across the whole network, in software, with no new hardware to install.
The honest framing matters here. Enforcement, ANPR and junction level signal work stay on the camera side. Trafficure does not do those, and does not claim to. A camera only sees the junction it is mounted on. Cover 200 to 300 junctions and you still have the arterials, residential streets and service lanes between them, around 97 percent of the road network, with no live signal at all.
That gap is structural. You cannot close it by buying more cameras at city scale, because the cost and the build time scale with every junction you add. Trafficure closes it in software, across all roads at once.

A practical caveat
What stays on the camera side
Probe data is built for monitoring the network, not for sub second control at a single junction. Trafficure does not enforce, does not read number plates, and is not the right tool for the work cameras are designed to do.
Quiet roads can also thin out, because aggregation drops very sparse segments to protect privacy. Cameras remain the right answer for enforcement and identification, and Trafficure is the right answer for seeing the whole network. That is the case for running both.
No decay to manage
One layer that does not wear out
Hardware in the field degrades. Cities commonly report that 30 to 40 percent of their cameras stop working within 2 years, between weather, power and vandalism. Trafficure has no cameras or sensors of its own to fail, and the probe data behind it is unaffected by fog, rain, dust or darkness, so the monitoring layer keeps running while field hardware is being serviced.
