Rajeev Saraf
Founder & CEO
B.Tech, IIT Kharagpur. Ph.D., Vanderbilt University. Under his leadership Lepton has grown from a geospatial technology company into an Infrastructure Intelligence platform company, with a vision to power critical infrastructure worldwide.
Where it started
A neural network for traffic lights, written in 1994.
Adaptive Traffic Control Using Neural Networks, submitted to the Graduate School of Vanderbilt University in August 1994 for a doctorate in civil engineering: the first doctoral thesis anywhere on using AI to control traffic signals. Lepton was founded the same year.
Thirty years on, that research is a product. TraffiCure reads a city's roads from probe data rather than roadside hardware, and answers the question the thesis was asking: what should the network do next.
