This policy explains what personal data Lepton Software collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
1. Who we are
This policy is issued by Lepton Software Export & Research Pvt Ltd, 570, Rao Gajraj Singh Marg, Phase V, Udyog Vihar, Sector 19, Gurugram, Haryana 122016, India, on behalf of itself and its affiliates: Lepton Software Trading FZE (UAE), Lepton Software Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) and Lepton Software Inc. (USA). In this policy "Lepton", "we" and "us" mean these companies.
Lepton is the controller (under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the "data fiduciary") for personal data collected through this website and our marketing and sales activities.
When we process data on behalf of a customer inside one of our products, the customer is the controller. That processing is governed by our agreement with the customer, not by this policy.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Enquiry and demo forms: name, work email, company, job title, phone number, country and your message.
- Webinar and event registration: the same contact details, plus whether you attended.
- Product trials: contact details and the details needed to set up your trial account.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Chat: the messages you type into the chat box on our website, and any contact details you add.
- Job applications: your CV and the information in it, and anything else you send us during hiring.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website we collect your IP address, browser and device type, language, the pages you view, how you arrived (including campaign tags in the link) and how you interact with the page. We use cookies and similar technologies for this. See our Cookie Policy.
Information from other sources
We collect business contact information (such as name, job title, company and work email) from public sources, event organisers, partners and commercial data providers such as Apollo, so we can contact professionals whose organisations may benefit from our products.
3. How we use it, and our legal basis

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 we process personal data with your consent or for a legitimate use permitted by that Act.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Who we share it with
- Our affiliates listed in section 1, so the right team can respond to you.
- Service providers who host our website, run our CRM and email, provide analytics and support our operations. They act on our instructions under contract. The current list is on our Subprocessors page.
- Partners, such as a technology partner co-hosting a webinar you registered for. We tell you on the registration page when this applies.
- Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
- A buyer or successor, if all or part of our business is reorganised, merged or sold.
5. International transfers
We operate in India, the UAE, Singapore and the USA, and some of our service providers are in other countries. Your data may therefore be processed outside the country where you live. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA or the UK, we use the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for, or as the law requires.
- Sales and marketing contacts: 3 years after our last interaction
- Job applicants who are not hired: 12 months
- Website analytics data: Google Analytics keeps event-level data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months
- Records we must keep by law, such as invoices: for the period the law sets.
If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list so that we do not contact you again.
7. How we protect it
We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Our website is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Read more on our Security page.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct or complete it;
- have it erased;
- restrict or object to our processing, including for direct marketing;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that already took place;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated (India);
- complain to a data protection authority or, in India, to the Data Protection Board of India.
Residents of US states with consumer privacy laws, such as California, may also have the right to know, delete and correct their data, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal data.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@leptonsoftware.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time the law allows, usually one month.
To stop marketing email, use the unsubscribe link in any email we send you.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the site. Analytics cookies need your consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland; elsewhere you can turn them off. Session-replay and advertising cookies are set only if you choose "Accept all". You can change your choice at any time. See our Cookie Policy.
10. Children
Our website and products are for businesses and government organisations. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
