SmartMarket · How it works
How a city becomes a ranked expansion decision
Behind the multi-step demo is one pipeline. Lepton's data plus your data flows through enrichment, analysis and visualization into reports, so a whole city collapses into a ranked, explainable answer you can take into a board meeting.

One pipeline behind the multi-step demo
A SmartMarket walkthrough can look like many moving parts, but it is one pipeline running end to end. Lepton's data plus your data comes in, is enriched, is analyzed, is turned into solutions and visualizations, and is delivered as reports. The same flow that powers a live demo is the flow that produces your answer, and it runs from a single-click workflow rather than a string of manual steps.
The point of the pipeline is to replace guesswork with verifiable data science. Instead of an opinion, a costly site visit or a survey that takes months, a whole city resolves into a ranked, explainable shortlist, with a Smart Score you can defend.
The five steps
From raw data to an executive-ready answer
- 01
Data in · Lepton's data, plus yours
The Lepton Data Observatory comes in alongside your own sales history, channel performance, partner scores and store formats, so the analysis is grounded in how your business actually performs, not a generic template.
- 02
Enrichment · A city, broken into a scored grid
The city is divided into a 150m by 150m micro-grid, and each cell is enriched with the relevant layers, footfall, affluence, income, competition, infrastructure and adjacency, so every part of the map carries context.
- 03
Analysis · Weightage scoring you control
Enriched grids are scored with a weightage-based composite, with catchments, isochrones and modeling applied as the question needs. Because you set the weights, the score stays explainable rather than a black box.
- 04
Solutions and visualization · The answer, on the map
Scores resolve onto a map dashboard as a ranked, explainable shortlist, with heatmaps and the reasons behind each cell, so a decision can be read straight off the map.
- 05
Reports · Delivered the way the team needs it
The result is delivered as an analyst platform view for the team that builds the model, and as presentation-ready executive reports for the leaders who act on it.
Two ways to receive it
The analyst platform and executive AI Reports
The same pipeline surfaces two ways, so analysts and executives work from the same data without getting in each other's way.
- 01
The Platform · For GIS analysts and data scientists
Raw, granular datasets, custom expansion models, weightage scoring and BI-tool integration. The full toolset for teams who want to build and tune the model under the hood.
- 02
AI Reports · For executives and strategy heads
Ask a question in plain language, for example "QSR in Bengaluru", and get presentation-ready, ranked answers in minutes. Validate any address quickly, each returned with a Smart Score and the reasons behind it. No analyst is required to get an executive answer.
The single workflow
Why a multi-step demo runs as one click
Site selection is a clear example of the pipeline at work. A city is split into a micro-grid, each cell is enriched with footfall, affluence, income, competitors and adjacency, then scored with a weightage-based composite, and the ranked shortlist lands on a map dashboard. What looks like many steps is a single-click workflow, because the pipeline does the sequencing for you.
Cannibalization checks model drive-time catchment overlap across your existing network before any new site is recommended, so growth does not come at the cost of stores you already run. The result is the same whether an analyst runs it on the platform or an executive asks for it in a report.
The pipeline resolves into one executive-ready answer.
Data in, enrichment, analysis and visualization run left to right along one route, and the final stage resolves into a single dashboard tile carrying the Smart Score. The whole city, reduced to the answer leadership actually needs.
The unified view
The CXO Dashboard, one real-time picture
Every run feeds the CXO Dashboard, a single real-time view of the portfolio and pipeline of expansion decisions. Leadership sees the same scored map and ranked shortlist the analysts work from, kept in step with the platform, so the conversation in the boardroom and the model on the analyst's screen never drift apart.
The data behind it
The Lepton Data Observatory, plus Google Places Insights
The pipeline draws on the Lepton Data Observatory: 30M+ points of interest across 300+ categories, demographics and affluence, footfall at 150m grids, the InfraNow feed of upcoming infrastructure projects, road traffic, transit, 3D buildings and house-level geocodes, alongside your own sales and store data. Google Places Insights is integrated for live POI quality, ratings, review counts and sentiment, so competitor benchmarking reflects how locations are perceived today.
Proof
The pipeline reads current data, not a stored snapshot
A pipeline is only worth as much as the data flowing through it. The Places Insights layer refreshes monthly, so the ratings, review counts and place status behind a competitor read reflect the market as it stands rather than a survey filed last year. The same pipeline already runs behind Lepton location intelligence across travel and real estate, telecom, mobility, BFSI, food delivery and retail.
