Where coverage usually runs out

Most geospatial datasets are strong in the metros and thin to the point of useless outside them. For a private team chasing the next city, that is a tolerable trade. For a government, smart-city or land-records programme, it is the opposite of the brief: the places that need the map most are exactly the places the map forgets.

SmartData is built India-first and from primary field survey, so the depth does not stop at the city limit. The administrative hierarchy resolves down to the village, and the rural-specific layers carry on past where global datasets give up.

Knowing where a village sits is the start. Planning for it needs more than an outline. SmartData carries rural market profiles at the tehsil level, so socioeconomic depth reaches past the district averages that flatten rural India into a single number.

For land, agriculture and infrastructure work, the portfolio goes down to village-level soil maps, the kind of ground detail that programmes have historically had to commission survey by survey.
