Restored at speed after Cyclone Fani
After Cyclone Fani struck the Odisha coast on 3 May 2019 with winds up to 175 kmph, telecom networks across the region suffered extensive damage, with many sites cut off by lost backhaul. Operators stood up war rooms, and re-routing and restoration decisions had to be made by visualising the network geographically. Lepton deployed NetworkAccess across the affected Tier-3 cities, giving teams a single network view to drive priority restorations and mark completion on the platform itself.
Over 210+ fibre cuts were reported, pushing parts of the operator's network to a standstill. As the cyclone subsided, field teams were mobilised and the cuts were restored at an average MTTR of 3 h 58 m 10 s, turning large numbers of radio sites back up in line with the corporate restoration plan.
