What does Google Maps Platform cost?
Pricing is set by Google and billed per call across three SKU tiers (Essentials, Pro and Enterprise) with automatic volume discounts. India-based customers receive a free monthly call allowance per SKU and Google has published materially lower India pricing. On top of pay-as-you-go, there are Savings Plans (fixed monthly billing with a discount and usage buffer) and per-trip Mobility Plans for fleets. We model total cost of ownership per use case so you choose the right construct, rather than quoting a rate card here.
We were going to build the dispatch, ETA and tracking layer ourselves on the Core APIs. Should we?
That is exactly what the Core APIs invite, and what mature operators most often regret. Deck benchmarks put a cab-aggregation orchestration layer (tracking, dispatch, trip lifecycle, ETA, journey sharing) at 15–25 engineers for 12–18 months to build, and a quick-commerce one at 8–12 engineers ongoing just to maintain. Mobility Accelerate retires that layer with Fleet Engine and the Driver, Consumer and Navigation SDKs, SLA-backed and priced per completed trip, so your engineers go back to building what only you can build.
What is Mobility Accelerate?
It is Google’s managed orchestration stack for fleets: Fleet Engine, Driver SDK, Consumer SDK, Navigation SDK and Fleet Tracking. It replaces the custom dispatch, ETA and tracking layer operators otherwise build in-house, and it is priced per completed trip instead of per API call. Lepton handles the SDK and GCP integration and selects the right Mobility Plan for your workload.
Our drivers leave our app to navigate in Google Maps. Can that be fixed?
Yes. The Navigation SDK puts brand-customisable turn-by-turn directions inside your own app. Drivers and customers see identical routes, and mid-trip re-routing pushes to the driver automatically, so the journey never leaves your product.
Indian addresses are a mess and our return-to-origin rate is high. What actually helps?
This is the exact problem the recent India investments target. The Address Validation API catches bad addresses at entry, Address Descriptors add India-exclusive landmark hints (for example, "Near Hanuman Mandir, Block D"), and house-level pin accuracy tightens the final hop, with two-wheeler routing that understands narrow roads and flyovers for the last mile. In an anonymised delivery deployment, address accuracy moved from an 85% ceiling on geocoding alone to 95%+ with Address Validation and Descriptors applied.
Can we do site selection and market analytics on Google’s data?
Yes. Places Insights in BigQuery exposes 250M+ places across 300+ types and 70+ attributes with a monthly refresh, for site selection, geomarketing and competitive benchmarking. Lepton’s SmartMarket productises this, and Roads Management Insights serves road authorities and utilities, which Lepton resells as Trafficure. Because we run our own products on both datasets, we set up the BigQuery pipeline and the polygon query architecture rather than handing you a licence and a docs link.
Is two-wheeler routing real, or just marketing?
It is real. Two-wheeler routing returns bike-specific paths, gully shortcuts and flyover anticipation, purpose-built for India quick commerce and continuously updated by Google’s India operations.
How does this help with cab-aggregator compliance under the MV Guidelines 2025?
Fleet Engine real-time tracking can feed State Command and Control Centres, route-deviation detection is built into trip monitoring, and panic-button integration is ready to wire in. We integrate these as part of the engagement rather than leaving compliance plumbing to your team.
Can Google’s AI features improve discovery inside our app?
Gemini-powered Places adds GenAI place summaries, "vibe checks" and contextual snippets, and the Air Quality and Weather APIs add environmental triggers, such as AQI-based product suggestions or weather-aware travel booking. We help you pick the few of these that fit your product rather than bolting on all of them.
How long does an integration take?
